Several members from the Aldrich group attended the 61st annual MIKIW Medicinal Chemistry meeting in Chicago, IL. We had a great time seeing researchers from several Mid-West institutions there!

"Dr. Subhankar (Subho) Panda and Tian Lan in the Aldrich lab headed out West to present at the 2024 Gordon Research Conference (March 17-21) in Ventura, California on New Antibacterial Discovery while Sang Vo, headed South to New Orleans to present at the 2024 ACS Spring National Meeting (March 17-21) on a joint project between the Baughn & Aldrich groups.
Subho, Tian, and Sang were excited to represent their group(s) and the Department of Medicinal Chemistry while attending their first conferences of 2024."

Congrats Kate!!!! She was selected as a 2024 CAS Future Leader - Top 100 through the CAS Future Leaders Program. This prestigious leadership program supports the growth of science leadership and provides networking opportunities to the next generation of scientists. The 2024 CAS Future Leaders cohort includes talented early-career scientists from 13 countries.

Moyo received the UMN Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship! This prestigious award is bestowed upon the University's most outstanding PhD candidates for their accomplishments in highly significant and innovative research areas. It is meant to give the University's most accomplished PhD candidates an opportunity to devote full-time effort to an outstanding research project by providing time to finalize and write their dissertation during the fellowship year.
The Aldrich group was well represented at the Graduate Recruitment Poster Session. This was a gratifying experience to engage with enthusiastic recruits and discuss their future research aspirations!

Dr. Kate Kostenkova recently presented her research on "Redesigning Rifamycin Antibiotics Against Multi Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis" at the Medicinal Chemistry Gordon Research Conference (August 11-16) and Gordon Research Seminar (August 10-11) in New London, New Hampshire. Dr. Kostenkova also received a travel award to attend both GRS and GRC. Kate was excited to represent the Aldrich lab and make new professional connections in the medicinal chemistry community.

Dr. Gorakhnath Jachak is leaving the Aldrich lab and will establish his research group as a PI in India. As a group, we celebrated Dr. Jachak's fantastic work over the last several years.
